Beliefs & the Heart

The following is my distilled belief of the true nature of us, based on my life experience and my studies as a seeker (my touchstones). After practicing for a while, here’s what being in alignment feels like, in my heart.

Our shared experience coming up through this world has been contaminated with a lot of social programming and prescribed ways of being that are antithetical to our true nature as humans. Over time, through tactics like patriarchal oppression, media, and religious dogma, we have been programmed to believe that we lack personal power. We feel we must check the boxes and follow the rules or we’ll lose in life. This false sense of structure steers us away from our own intuition, joy, and inspired direction. We have big power within us to change our paths… so much more than we’ve been led to believe. Coming back to that strength of knowing all starts with awareness and connecting to our hearts. Our hearts are the interpreters of our souls. If we can make our decisions from the heart, we begin to trust ourselves to figure out what calls to us. And what comes next as we move in that direction, is more than we could have ever dreamed was possible. Our true essence is light, pliable, unlimited, and loving. We just have to eliminate the stuff in the way of remembering that.

Our bodies are avatars living in a world of duality. Our souls, which remain connected to divine source, slip into these bodies to experience and learn. What would love, joy, and bliss feel like without pain, sadness, and grief? It’s a method set up by the divine to experience itself in vastly different ways through all of our unique lives. We are lucky to be here, to drink up the beauty around us, and navigate topics like trust, love, connection, joy and expression. Our hearts are the true brain of the body. Their purpose is to guide us through these experiences, keeping us connected to source. Our brains are magnificent meaning makers, and we get to decide what they create.

Though we are all from source, or unity consciousness, we still have our unique signatures. We are imprinted with the wounds, hardships, gifts, and triumphs our souls have incurred lifetime after lifetime. We are also imbued with the energetic residue of our ancestral lineage. This can affect us in ways we can’t imagine, but if we can untangle these remnants, we can break the cycles of our ancestors. Our essences are expressed through our value systems, the decisions we make, and what we choose to create in our lives. Not one of us is the same as another and to keep the channels of source flowing, we have a responsibility to express ourselves as true to our essences as we can. Think of it as a spider web of electrical current, where every intersection of strands is a soul. To keep the current moving through the entire web, each soul must be open and express fully. If we get stuck in harmful repeating patterns, untrue beliefs, and a negative self-image, we shut off our circuits and the flow of source energy impacts us all. When we do express ourselves, we positively impact the collective. Nobody has to see or even know about this expression for it to be felt energetically.

We have gotten way off track in our world. Greed and the desire for power have come in and imposed systems and structures that are not in coherence with our nature. I have felt this dissonance my entire life, but stifled my questioning of the structure for years. I found quantum physics, synchronicities, and energy fascinating, but I still felt I had to check the boxes to maintain good standing to survive in the system. It felt unreal, like a game I didn’t want to play. I didn’t realize that I had the power to change what I was seeing outside of myself. Because I validating the matrix, it was persisting in my experience.

Many of us have been separated from our hearts, and instead of using our precious time here to experience beauty, connection, love, and creativity, we have been stuck in anxiety about the future based on the past. We make our decisions using information that is not relevant in the present, instead of trusting our hearts to guide us in the now. We have allowed our egos to take the driver’s seat, seeking out scenarios that feed into our wounding because it feels familiar, or we want another shot and repairing it. These mechanisms may have kept us safe in the past, but they may no longer useful. Many of us now feel it’s time to take our power back and put the ego in the back seat. Time to let the heart drive, live in the present moment, and experience the beauty that unfolds!
